I have a highly modified street/strip W41 Quad 4 in a 92 Olds Achieva. My compression is 11:1 (a full point over the stock). I got an email from an associate of mine who drag races his. He has 13:1 compression on his and he is using Sunoco purple racing gas on the track. He emailed me saying "When we ran our drag racing Quad 4 on my sons dyno, we found 24 degrees total timing gave us the most HPs. We ran 2 different ignition set ups, one with a trigger wheel & msd locked in total degrees, and the other was a stand alone, w/15 starter up and 24 total degrees". How do I adjust the timing on my chip to use his advice? I'm using 93 Octane pump gas vs his racing gas, and he's got 2 full points on compression over me. thanks guys.
hmm... you are asking a great question.. without needing to spend 2 hours typing a reply on how everything works.. i am hoping you have a quadfour power manual..and you might want to contact several different suppliers of custom tunes..there are a few charts here to fill out to order a custom chip tune.. http://www.exatorq.com/TuneOrdersthere is also floating around out there. a 4T60E transmission upgrade manual..
