Hello, I have a 2010 camaro 2ss and looking for a new project.I am wanting to leather wrap the door inserts and dash inserts with black leather and a diamond stitch pattern. I have a shop near me that is supplying the leather and doing the wrap for me. My part is stitching the pattern. I have been told I need to use a "wax" thread and can't seem to find it at any crafts store near me in the right color and size/thickness. My question is, does any one no where to get this thread?

I am also curious about a foam that needs to be on the back while stitching to give the diamond pattern the 3d or “raised" look. Any tips or suggestions  for this project will be greatly appreciated . Also will be doing the stitching by hand and using a leather punch to make the holes before stitching

there are upholstery supplies all over the place...

you did not mention where you live at..

they have a bunch of different sections that might help you.

here in los angeles there are several upholstery suppliers.. and dozens of thread suppliers.  looks like the people above sell size 69 and size 92 threads. even a few foam suppliers..

Thanks. I live in lafayette La. I'm not sure what thread to go with when looking online bc it's hard to tell which thread is the right size and the same as the thread on my doors and seats in my car. Also which foam is oftenly used for this type of work?
