Okay guys, I've got a olds 350, with Edelbrock performer RPM manifold, Carter AFB carb, and a TH 200-4R behind it. What magic bracket does it take to hook up the TV cable? All the universal brackets I've seen come way too short. Even at full extension the cable end doesn't reach the throttle shaft on the carb. Do I need a different cable or is there a special bracket for this application?
I used this bracket to correct the pull geometry for the tv system to work right. If the tv cable isn't adjusted correctly it can kill the trans in a mile or less.http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/157300/10002/-1You may find this article useful as it describes in detail that correct operation of the tv system.http://www.tvmadeez.com/article/index.phpI just swapped a Eddy AFB onto a 307 sbo and had to move the factory bracket about 3/4" back to make the throttle cable work. I just used a couple pieces of metal with a set of holes for the rear of the carb and another set of holes 3/4" back for the factory throttle bracket. If you want a picture I can post one tomorrow.
This picture doesn't show the extension pieces but it does show the rest of the install.
This is pretty close to what my factory bracket looks like.http://www.jegs.com/i/TCI/890/376700/10002/-1
Here's the picture of the extension brackets I promised, even if they are late.
