I'M FINISHING THE PROTOTYPE OF A NEW ROTARY ENGINE.\.NEED THE CUSTOM SPARK PLUGS FOR IT.DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GET HELP ?THANK YOUANTONIO DOMIT
You're talking Wankel rotary correct? Like 12A, 13B type rotary?A Mazda dealer will have them or you could use your favorite parts store's search engine to find them.
you can try this reverse engineering specs to a current production spark plug number selector..http://www.sparkplugs.com/Search.aspx?ptn=Spark+Plugi seem to recall that NGK spark plugs has a final assembly line in so cal... if you have some special needs... they might have components that might mix and match to create.. but i have not ask them about this... i am hoping that somehow.. you have designed your engine to use some kind of standard production spark plug.. you have dozens of options in thread length and side electrode styles..
if you are designing from scratch... you might even look at the crazy styles of the ford triton spark plugs... yes. they were pains to remove and required overnight soaking which might be hard if the spark plug is sticking out the side.. but they could get you deep thru the water jacket and into the chamber without a lot of size.. but could you get tooling for them.. there are solid inserts available and taps with J form threads to allow you to have a premanufactured thread insert that will save you a LOT of tooling time..but they are also available in other sizes and shapes... http://www.locknstitch.com/sparkpluginserts.htm
