gear ratio...

transmission type.. stall speed if different than OEM..

carb type....

manifold type..

which heads..

end use..   street .. strip.. street and strip.. highway miles daily commuter..

tow light loads.. tow heavy loads.. hauling fat chicks around..

do you expect MPG from this improvement..

and a personal wish..  that the headers you select .. have oxygen sensor ports so you can screw in a 30 to 60 buck oxygen sensor and temp mount a vacuum gauge and an 50 buck air fuel ratio display on the top of the dash.. to fine tune your carb.. think rubber gauge mounting block.. and a power cord to plug into the lighter to supply power to the air fuel ratio display.. a vacuum hose to the manifold for the vacuum gauge.. unplug it when you are finished tuning..

so many options..  short headers.. mid length headers.. long tube headers..

different diameters... from 1.5" 1.625" and 1.750  inch primaries..  you have over 50 possible headers.. when i took a look at one major supplier..

you will also need to think about the rest of the exhaust..

2" , 2.250, 2.5, 3"  and do you want it quiet.. or to rattle windows as you drive..

all..

http://www.summitracing.com/search/year/1970/make/chevrolet/model/c10-pickup/department/exhaust/engine-size/5-7l-350?PageSize=100

either 1.625  or 1.750 primary..    1.625 primary is probably closer to what you need..

do you have the cast iron exhaust manifolds that are actually shown in the link.. that come down and bend backwards..

one thing.. when you change from a cast iron exhaust.. to headers.. you will need to probably change the jetting in the edelbrock carb.. if you have fine tuned it already..

air fuel ratio display and an oxygen sensor screwed into a oxygen sensor bung welded into the side of the pipe right past the collector.. there are articles on this..  here in CC if you search the tech section listed above left..
