Hey guys I am new to the site and new to restoring old cars but basically I just purchased a 1957 Ford F100 with a 289 V8 and I was wondering if I could get some advice restoring the truck for daily driving.
welcome to the forums...feel free to ask questions... there are also about a dozen truck magazines on this site along with dozens of car specific magazines..you may want to look over at classictruck and customclassictruck sites here... there are tech and how to articles in both... and if you click thru enough pages of the link below.. you will find some of themhere are some articles on F100 trucks..http://www.classictrucks.com/sch/02/f100/articles/?searchSource=Grouptake some pictures. put them up on photobucket.. with pictures and questions... you will be amazed at the replys you get to almost ANY question there is not enough skin left on my finger tips to answer such a generic question without seeing detailed images of the truck and components..
Good luck with your project. its always best to pay attention to every aspect of a build because they can easily get out of control quick. Labor , parts and materials add up real fast.Talk with local people who have had work completed at a local shop and ask questions. At Eddie Barrett Seat Company we work with a lot of different builders and restorers and trust me it really pays off to ask around and do research. Good luck
