tsk tsk guys, you're going to cause a mass panic with your baby LT1 garble the L99 4.3 V8 only came in 94-96 caprices, never in a roadmaster, fleetwood, or heaven help us an impala ss. it was mainly an economy option for taxi fleets and probably to appease the governments fuel economy watchdogs. the rest of the article is your typical sound advice but you should've thrown in the 10.5:1 compression ratio which adds to forced induction troubles.

Your right about that. Little is known about that. I don't know why they did that other than MPG. They stood up to a Taxi Cab abuse in the big city's. Had a friends parents that bought one at an auction. Beautifull car. Nice Caprice Maroon on Maroon.
What a dog: It had a 2:67 rear gear. So he installed a 3:42 rear gear. It helped, but was still lacking that driveability.
He purchased a State Police wreck. We rebuilt it. Changed it all over to a (P) code and what a nice car.
