Hello to everybody here on the CC forums! How's it going? fine I hope! I am a new user to the board, the "FNG" if you will... I have a dillema that I could really use some assistance in solving. I have created my readers rides profiles for my 5 vehicles, and I cannot get ANY of my pictures to upload, to any of the 5 profiles. I have tried multiple times, to no avail. They act like they are uploading, but nothing afterwards, and no pictures are shown in any of my profiles . I just don't get it...I've posted TONS of pics to other sites, with no issues whatsoever, why won't they upload here?
I realize the rule of using any copyrighted material, and maybe this could(?) be the problem....my original pics that were in my "my pictures" folder came up M.I.A., so the only ones that were still accessable to me were the copies that I had posted on my eBay, "my vehicles" profile. I re-copied them to my pictures, and then attempted to post them here. Is that the problem? Or should they have posted?
I'm completely stymied by this, I've tried every which way possible to get them to post, but no dice. Anybody on here have a clue as to why? And if so, PLEASE TELL ME HOW! Is there a trick or something that i'm missing?
Thanks to everybody in advance, I appreciate any help I could get to solve this!

You have to use a picture sharing host site like PhotoBucket, ImageShack, or others. Post your pics to the hosting site then use the image code to post the pics to the forum page.

Heres what I do:
Upload the pics/vids to a free hosting site (I use photobucket.com) them cut n paste the IMG code here. Doesn't work in the quick reply box, so use "Post Reply" or "Reply to thread".
Heres a cut-n-paste on the subject:
"How To Post A Picture".

Here are easy and clear instructions on how to post a picture on this forum.
1. Since we don't support direct image uploads to our forums, you must upload your images somewhere else and link them to our forums. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds. I recommend using Photobucket as your image upload host.
2. Once you have created an account with a picture uploading website, it is time to upload your pictures and then copy each images IMG code and paste it into the thread where you want the image to show. I suggest you use reply and not quick reply, to post pics.
3. All that is left to do is preview your code, to make sure your image works and you're done. Just hit "post" and it will show up instantly.
One thing I forgot to mention, is if you create a readers ride account and upload your pictures there you can also link pictures. It's done a little differently. Right click and view the image. Once you have done so copy the url bar text and click on the . Paste your url text and your done.
Recommend Width is 640 pixels
Hope this makes it a bit easier for readers to post pics
thanks mpayne

Guys, it sounds to me like 77_IMPALA_MAN is wanting to upload to "Reader's Rides". Not on a forum thread. Thats different! Those pics are stored here on the website. You can certainly upload them there, then insert them here but that isn't the question.
IMP- Heres what I would try
If you can locate the original photos (on a drive, card, or disc) thats best of course. If not-
Try again using a different free web browser.
Same problem? Update your operating system, browser and plug-ins, and flash player. Update Java if you run that. Also update any add-on virus, spyware, or security programs you may have. Try again.
Didn't work? Clean up all temporary files and old ActiveX controls.
Still not working? Rename your pics you saved from ebay then try again.
Still nothing? Scan the pics for viruses.
Nothing? Re-check all your browser and firewall and security settings, something may be blocking you.
Last but not least likely- Wait a week and try again, because when problems with the website occur, they may take awhile to fix. Also, the website may want to "filter" your pics before allowing them to appear, and that might cause a delay.
Thats what I would do. The files you assume are pics may actually be links with thumbnails or something, if they were saved from the web. Its possible that if that site re-named the pics, it also changed the file extension. If so, you may need to photo-edit them and save as a different file type, or to change the file extensions to ".jpg".
Did you get any messages back saying "file size is too large" or anything like that?

Hello everybody! Thanks for all the quick responses! I am now going to systematically try all the suggestions that everybody has..untill I get the darned things to upload! If all else fails, I will just take some new ones, truthfully some of them are kind of crappy anyway, and I want to get some burnout shots of the Impala & "Frankentruck" to include as well! Again thanks to everyone for the help, and i'll see what I can get done...stay tuned!

OH...BTW, there were NOT any error messages, they acted like they were uploading, but nothing shows up when done. I'm off to start my "upload correction quest!"
Thanks again to everybody!

77_IMPALA_MAN,
Check and make sure that the file you are trying to upload is under 1mb. We don't allow any larger file sizes. Also, I would check and make sure that it is either a .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif image.
