they come in two sizes, 64 & 70cc, the answer depends on what you're looking to get in the way of compression ratio

use this link to play with the numbers and get a good idea of how different changes affect the compression ratio

welcome to Car Craft FireBirdJimm:

Jimm I'm "assuming" you are using your build for a street/strip application correct. Confused

Something to have fun with. Do you want that Rumpty-Rump sound of the "old muscle cars" Because you didn't mention what car you have, or what trans your using. With that said let me see if I can give you some options... Grin  Grin  Cool

What type car

What application street-strip or both

Automatic or a manual trans

Rear gear ratio

How tall are your rear tires

I just looked through Jegs for cams, and they have enough to get get you going. Their cam kits are really inexpensive.

So let us know...

I did a 406 for a buddy. .030 over, ft Kb pistons, 350 5.70" rods, stock oil pump, oil pan, RHS 215 cast iron heads w/72 cc chambers(approx 10.0 to 1 comp).500" summit cam 236*@.050", edelbroch rpm intake 750 vac sec Holley. it was in 85 chevy 1500 pickup that ran 13.0 @ 105mph on street tires! 2200-2400 stall 3.73 gears.. it's a torque motor, just extend the rpm range a little. on a budget, use stock type cast dished piston with vortech heads(64cc) and a cam with no more than .450" lift but with around 230-236 duration at .050" (1971-73 Lt1 cam)
