I have a rebuilt AMC360 engine that was rebuilt, pressure lubed with royal purple break in oil until oil came out of all rockers, and marvel oil put in each spark plug(never started. After that the engine has been sitting and never started for 2 years.. Is it ok to just pressure lube this again and start it or is there something else i should do before firing this up..  The Cam and lifters were coated when I put them in 2 years ago.. I'm worried the cam lube would have dried up or dripped off(used Comp cams Pro cam lube on assembly of the cam and lifters)..
Thanks
Sean...

The only thing I would do is crank the engine around 1/4 turn by hand while your oil  priming the engine. It will help you get oil all around the lobes of the cam.

Make sure the carb is full of gas.
Make sure your timing is set.
so the engine fires on the first try.
When it fires bring it up to 2500RPM and hold it there for 10 mins. Then cycle the RPM 2000 to 3000RPM for 10 minutes. Then the last 10 minutes set the RPM at 2500. This should take care of the cam break in. It may seem like a little reduntent but it will be the best 30 mintues your engine will need. When you take it on the road treat it like a rebuilt engine break it in nice and slow.
If you haven't filled the radiator and block fill them with water.Just in case you have a leak it's only water your loosing not coolant....
FYI CompCams,Lunati and Crane Cams have procedures for breaking in new cams. Good Luck...
