I have a 55 chevy with electric holley fuel pump and a 600 holley with 327 v-8 and automatic tranny .Car also has an older vehicle security system . WHAT I NEED IF YOU CAN HELP IS IF YOU KNOW ANY ONE WHO HAS ANY IDEAS ON WHY CAR WONT STAY RUNNING OR HOW I CAN BY PASS THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE TO SEE IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM AND I WONDER IF IT IS SAFE NOT TO HOOK PUMP TO OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ? HOPEFULLY YOU HAD A SAFE TRIP . THANKS BOB I CANT GET CAR TO RUN . DURING THE CRANK HOLLEY FUEL PUMP IS GETTING VOLTAGE AND MOTOR IS GETTING PLENTY OF OIL PRESSURE .THERE IS A OIL PRESSURE SWITCH AND ALSO AN INLINE FUSE INSTALLED..CAR WILL RUN ONLY A FEW SECONDS AND FUEL PUMP ISNT GETTING ANY VOLTAGE .AND CAR SHUTS DOWN . AS FAR AS I CAN TELL EVERYTHING IS WIRED CORRECTLY . THE FIRST PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH A BAD BALLAST RESISTOR THEN I CHANCED THAT AND IT CAR RAN FINE . THEN IT QUIT ? HOW CAN I CHECK A OIL PRESSURE SWITCH TO SEE IF IT IS BAD ? WHAT ELSE WOULD CAUSE THGE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP TO NOT BE GETTING ANY VOLTS WHEN YOU RELEASE THE KEY AND ALSO WHILE CARS IS RUNNING FOR A FEW SECONDS PUMP IS NOT GETTING ANY VOLTS ?
