A friend of mine wants to convert his 65 mustang automatic to a four speed. I told him it was fairly simple. Anybody have a list of parts or tech advice on the swap?

that swap has been covered in a few different magazines here..
here is an article on not just swapping a 4 speed.. but swapping in a 5 speed..
http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/mump_1111_how_to_install_a_five_speed_transmission/index.html
a few things... you will really want to identify the engine year and the flywheel / flexplate you remove.. as there was a change in 1980.. when the balance on the damper and the flywheel changed.. 28 ounce inch to 50 ounce inch

Thanks for the reply, I read the article in mustang monthly on the 5spd. I'm looking for a straight forward old school toploader 4spd with factory parts and linkage. Kinda like doing it back in 65. Thanks
