Project car is a 1st Gen Camaro. I'm 2" narrowed with Dana 60 (setup for C6 wheel offsets 275/35-19) and Hotchkis 2" lowered spring kit in rear. I've fabbed frame connectors to allow for a modified Cal-Trac system for staight line. The shocks are moved in-board with Comp Eng frame to frame mount. Question - if I decompress preload on Cal-Tracs for road work, will a Watts link give me substantially better cornering. I know both systems will need to be tuned indepedently. And yes I know that DSE has a proven rear half that works great. I'm looking for modified old school look. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I just sold my 1968 Camaro in Sept.2011,I used a Dana 60 5:13 with 4 leaf springs on each side. I didn't touch the inboard frame rails in the wheel house. Slapper bars with a 402 BBC and a TH400. Frame connectors welded in I had a funny car cage in it. It was a race car. The rear shocks were in their original places. If the slick wasn't so tall the buldge would hit. I was going to set it up to run Stock and/or Super Stock. A knee operation years ago stopped me from doing that. Anyway it went 11:20@122MPH in street trim.
With that all said I had a 12" wide wrinkle wall slick on it and the tires never hit the inside of the wheel house. When I drove on the street I put a 15X10 standard cooper tire on it, and they were nearly 10.5" wide The car scrubbed the rear bumper until I put Training Wheels (WHEELY BARS)on the back. I owned the Camaro since 1972, it was a race car all the life I owned it....The guy that bought it from me has changed the color to Yellow and didn't waste any time running it. I did a freshening up for him and it still runs the numbers. The suspension is stock really it had adjustable Gabriel Shocks all around. I know I didn't answer your question but the stock looking suspension old school look caught my eye. It was definetly old school. My 1966 ChevyII was another story. Anyway good luck with your project Thanks Bob

Thanks, Bob, for your support. I had a '62 Nova as first build back in early 70's. Back then, Moroso made the notched pan for stock steering. Had a SB 301 *** (self built) Hooker fenderwells with new T-10 and 411 gears. Body was stock except for glass hood and fenders. Enough 'funpower' to get me in trouble a couple of times. Those were the days - enough old school for now; I'm putting together a corner carver with 'old school look including quarter panel artwork. Good luck with your new ride.

My first real HI-PO car was a 64.5 K-Code Mustang Convertible. The guy I bought it from came from money. The mustang had been sent to Tasca Ford in Rhode Island. It had a Super T-10 trans 4:30 rear gears with a locker,(I could take off in 3rd gear) it had the trans am cam installed thats why the gears. It had things done to it. Well as deep as wells go. I went to Viet-Nam and when I came home I found my brother whom I trusted with my baby had wrapped it around a tree. All I have is memories of that car. When I say it was a fast car, it ate Mustangs, Camaro's, GTXs,Tri-Power GTO's, some Corvettes. Enough of that I still get depressed about that. Even though he was my brother 50 years later he still apologizies for it when I see him. I guess he still thinks I'd wring his neck!!!! He's correct in that assumption...LOL....
I have a notched pan and oil pump extension for early ChevyII. It's either 7or8 quart pan If your interested.
I have some gears for 10 and 12 bolt.I don't sell junk. I'd rather crush the stuff. If you know what aai mean? I have a Pro Shifted Super T-10 Hurst Competion shifter, Lakewood bellhousing, ram clutch 6 disc, pressure plate,BBC
I have a narrowed 9" Ford I believe it's 54" backing plate to backing plate. Some Ford 9" rears open third members, so much stuff. ASK I probably have it. It has 31 spline Strange Axles, with a 9" 5:67 SCHIEFER PRO GEARS and a Strange 31 Spline Spool. Has NO time by that I mean it all has 20 Runs on it if that. The 5:67 Gear have more time then that. Everything in V/G shape
The Fenderwell headers I sold to a friend just last summer for his 53 Chevy. his cousin ruined them cutting them up. OH WELL!!! If you need anything PM me. Thanks Bob
