79 Camaro

My husband has a '79 Camaro that I'd like to restore back at least drivability... I can do minimal things on a car; and I'm sure I'd have to find/pay someone to do anything major...but is the minimal stuff something I can probably tackle on this on my own... or am I just going to make more of a mess.  The poor thing hasn't been started in years (at least 8-10) and the weather stripping is gone from the front window...and I'm sure other places.  I want to get this running for him; he busts his rear 70 hours a week at work and there's no way he ever has time with everything he's trying to fix on the house, and take care of his mom and her house....  Just not sure where to start; or if I can.
