Hey guys I not a Rockafeller I'm a little feller.I would like to hear some ideas on home building an E-85 Street/Strip SBC.My idea is a 401( +.060 overbored 350 with a 3.875 forged crank) 12-13.1:1 forged pistons, forged 6 inch rods,a solid roller cam, aluminum heads, single 4 barrell single plane intake, and an E-85 850 carb. What manufacturers do you recommend as far as cams/lifters,rotating assembly& block for this cheap/dirty home built brawler? Is 480-560 HP & 510 LBFT of TQ to much to dream for N/A with an RPM band of 2000-6800(redline at 7K)?Is a Nitrous Friendly Cam available?
for fun i camquest6 sim'd this...4.06 x 3.875, 12.5 comp. ratio, 850 cfm carb, open, large tube headers, dart pro 1 230cc port heads, 2.08 x 1.60 valves, standard flow single plane intake, had to choose gasoline for fuel. used solid roller cam level 4/drag race #12-900-9 .... specs are, 252-258 degrees at 50, 106 degrees LSA, 0.630 gross lift. the sim said... 615 horses @ 6,500 rpm, 567 LBS.
