Hello everyone thanks in advance if anyone can answer this. I have a 69 Olds 350 with #5 Heads(Big Valves), polished rods, and a "N" Crankshaft. Using a set of Probe Forged Lightweight pistons with -3c dish can anyone tell me how big of camshaft I can put in this before I have piston to valve issues? I have no issues claying this motor just wanted a general idea so I don't order to big of a camshaft. This will be street use and I'm looking for the biggest Hydraulic cam (non roller) I can fit in it. I will be using a 3000ish stall converter and 3.73 gears, and using a set of roller rockers so i can have an adjustable valvetrain as recommended by cam manufacturers. Thanks again

all depends on piston to deck height, where you have your cam degreed, duration of the cam, pretty much everything,  there is no telling,  only thing i can tell you is buy the cam you want and you might have to have a machine shop fly cut the valve reliefs on the pistons for you, its not only the lift you have to be worried about

I've heard that the Olds valve angle is 7 degrees (sbc is 23), so the valve is nearly horizontial with the piston tops. This means its less likely to be a problem unless the deck & heads have been machined alot & you run a hugh cam.
If your gonna run it on the street you want vacuum for your power brakes, so I'd start looking at cams in that range & look up the specs.
