I have a 307 That I want to put 305 heads on, but the only thing i know about 305 heads are that they have 58cc chambers, this is why I want them for my 307. But I do not now the port size or the port flow. So I am asking what are the intake runner sizes in cc's and how many cfm do they flow, and what are the valve sizes and will they work good on a 307, I want to run the engine up to 6000RPM.

What are the casting numbers on the 305 heads you want to use?

I do not know, if you can list the flow for all of the 305 heads, I am ordering them from Oreillys and the computer just said 305 heads and did not give a casting #

The 416 and 601 305 heads work pretty well.

Well I work at Oreillys and just about 30 min ago I called tech service and they said that I just have to call the warehouse and make sure they send me the 601s because I told him what it was going on and he said that I would want the 601s.

So what do the 601s flow, and I was thinking about having bigger valves put in it and doing a small port and polish job. Also about how much better will these heads proform over 882 heads on the same 307.

The only difference between the 601 and 416 heads is the 416 had 58cc chambers and the 601 had 53CC chambers.
They are better than the 882 heads.

Ok, with those 601 heads I come up with a 9.5:1 CR and I will also be buying a Lunati cam #60102lk or #60103lk have not made up my mind yet. Will be using a Victor jr. intake because I already have one and a holley 600DP carb With MSD HEI ignition and a MSD ignition control box and 1.5 inch headers. And it has all stock bottom end and is held togeather with ARP studs and bolts. How much power do you think it will make and what would you say would be a max rpm for it.

Super Chevy did a story where they put Edelbrock heads and intake on a stock 307, and they ended up with good power considering it was a low compression 307. I'd check out that story, here's the link:

http://www.superchevy.com/technical/engines_drivetrain/cams_heads_valvetrain/sucp_0604_small_block_307_performance_build_danger_mouse_part_twentyfive/index.html

A rebuilt short block with higher compression pistons would yield even more power.

Ok I got the heads and they are 601 heads. They have 1.84 intake valves and 1.5 exhaust valves, Will these heads flow good enough for my 307, I plan on running it to about 5500rpm, do you think that these heads will let my 307 run up to 5500rpm with good strong power.

If you are installing them as cast then you should be able build power up 5500RPM with the right cam.

Well I plan on having some bowl blending done and a minor port and polish job in the attempt to get a little more flow out of them.

I only plan on polishing the top and sides of the runners untill the rough casting is polished smooth and I am going to leave the bottom rough and as cast to roll the air going down the runners. The bowl blending will be done by the machine shop.

Do you think this will make the runners flow better and what kind of power increase might I see.

I would not polish the the intake runner on a wet flow system, which you have.
Leaving the runner "rough" discourages fuel coagulatin in the dead zone (little or least flow velocity) area of your runner.
Keep in mind that air can turn corners, fuel, even atomized, acts like a solid and some of it will collide into your runner wall at the far end of the intake port.
If you do everything right,,, 300 horse is possible.
