I have a 56 chevy with 350 with flat top speedpro pistons, hedman headers,pp cyclone intake with 750 edlebrock carb,3.73 gears,4-speed,comp xtreme 274 cam. I was wondering if an edlebrock rpm performer or weind stealth might perform better for street-strip.It is not a daily driver. thanks phil

Yes either intake will out perform the pp cyclone knock off intake.

Can't comment on the Edelbrock, but the Weiand Stealth is a great street/strip intake! I have ran one on a 327 and 283 w/ the basic boltons and it made a very noticable difference in power.

I've seen dyno results that have the PP intakes outperforming the other top names. PP intakes are direct copies of Edelbrock intakes just not always as good of quality.

I have never seen any test were a china made knock off intake out performed the edelbrock or weiand.
I have seen were they loss power with the knock off not gained.

I've seen them but we all know you cant trust anything from companies pushing a product. Side by side the difference in quality stands out.

Well ya if they do there own test of course they are going to make there product like good. Just like one company that makes Poncho heads what they claim is no were near what it really is.

i have a pp hurricane and it performs well though im sure id see some small gains with an edelbrock or weiand but if there is a place to save a few bucks on a motor an intake manifold is probably one that couldnt destroy your motor

Maybe the intakes they make for chevy are better performing then the ones they make for Pontiac.
I still would not use one on my engines. I wonder if they got those results from pp them selves.

i would hope, seems ridiculous to lose 70 hp on an intake swap

That maybe true? Thats a seriuos drop in power from just an intake swap but I've seen some with enough castingflash to cause issues. I bet they cleaned up the castingflash on the SBC dyno test and not on the Pontiac test.

I agree on not using one personally. That goes back to my thoughts of why put good parts in the engine and cheap ones on the outside. Have a plan when it comes to the build and stick with it! I'm sure we have all seen good engines go to crap because of this
