How hard would it be to put a mid 80s Coupe deville front end on my 81 El Camino??

are you talking about the transverse engine model????/   that should be do able...  the width is close..   you may have to put a pie shaped filler in the top of the front fenders to get the sides to line up with the doors and the hood to still line up with the fenders..

the hardest part is going to be the core support..  as the cad unit is mounted differently.. and everything indexes off that..
