Yeah put a locker in the back and an air locker in the front, that will help considerably.  Your solid cam selection is perfect for what oyu want to do.  The world heads with the 58cc chamber as mentioned by pontiac will bump your compression and provide a bit more power than your stock pieces.  What kind of inake are you running?  What kind and how large of carb is currently on it?

Edelbrock EPS Performer, Holley 4160 600cfm

I am going with a Detroit locker in the back and a Tru Trac in the front. Also changing the front shafts to chromoly and changing the back shafts to one piece.

I would not say that I have seen them run pretty well with the right combo.
