Did any of the 68' 383 Roadrunners come with a chrome air-cleaner or where all of the air-cleaners the black un-silenced type?

Also, did any of the 68' 383 Roadrunners come with a stock tach on the dash, or did those come in the GTX's or something?

I believe the tach was optional on all the B-body cars - it was NOT standard on the GTX - could be optioned with either 4-speed or an auto...

Air cleaner - only chrome air cleaner in 68 RR was the Hemi oval one...   all others (383s) has the black wrinkle round un-silenced.

Thanks, how would I find out if my RR came with a tach?  As far as performance, would the stock chrome air-cleaner, with a hose, hinder the engines performance {i.e. cfm air flow}?  Thanks.

The buildsheet should have the option for a tach on there.

The stock air cleaner would hinder a couple HP but nothing to get into a tiff over IMO...    leave the open element dime store air cleaners to the ford and chevy guys =P
