This is a ZZ4 shortblock with AFR 195cc heads and a custom Erson cam.  Its role in life is to be a test valvetrain equipment I am developing.  The next step is a SB2.

What's it going in when I'm done with testing?  A storage unit.

We flat milled the AFR heads down to increase compression (I think 57cc chambers was the end result) and then opened up the spring pockets for the PBR springs, but that was all.

this is peace...

i have a dyno question..    has anybody every mounted their entire dyno on a tilting floor.. so you can duplicate the cornering forces for circle track racing..

i would think that depending on the track.. that the right side of the carb would be richer do to the fuel angle from cornering forces...   noting is more important than getting power coming out of the corner..

i don't get to many circle track races.. so i don't get to ask the race teams..     i would think that putting a camera in a car looking at a dash mounted clear plastic box part way filled with colored liquid.. to see what the forces are at each track in the different corners..     you could even use it to recreate the oil levels...

Formula and Le Mans teams have these test rigs, and I'm sure NASCAR does as well:

Obviously, that's big dollar stuff.  I think the budget version would be to take a couple webcams and watch your fuel bowls through turns.  If someone made glass float bowls, it would be neat to mount a dummy carb on the dashboard, fill it with mineral spirits, and watch the sloshing during turns (like the fluid test you described).

Either way, good baffles should cut down on sloshing, and testing different jetting configurations at the track would help the team feel for how lateral g-forces affect fuel enrichment.

Put a Holley on it and you will most likely get more power.

We tried a QFT (Holley) and a Demon, but the Edelbrock was just easier.  In any case, valvetrain stability is more sensitive to RPM than horsepower for this type of engine.

Actually, a cheap El Camino or Nova might be cheaper than storage.  Or even a rat rod.
