I'm building a 307 with a edelbrock 204/214 cam, performer intake, stock rotating assembly, 305 ho heads with z28 springs. Any idea what size carb 500-600cfm what would be best?

A 500CFM should work well.

500cfm is all that you need.

500cfm is ok if your building an easy driving/cruisin car. I have a 307 that is built almost the same way but I have 882 heads on mine so compression sucks and it has a powerglide trans so it is a little slow off the line and I have a 650 Holley double pumper, it took some fine tuning to get it to work but it took .5 seconds off my 0-60 time.
It has #68 jets all around, #28 squirter in the front with a 30cc accel. pump, and #32 squirter in the rear with a 50cc accel. pump.
It runs great so if you have a Th-350 Trans, and a 2000 or better stall you should be ok with up to a 650 double pumper, but I would NOT GO OVER 650.

650 DP is too much IMO. We have one a stroked, solid roller 400 with ported Bowtie heads, running a Victor JR and it does the job on that engine. Putting one on a very mild 307 doesnt make sense to me.
