As for painting and body work, the Primedia website or a local public library that carries back issues, and grab one of the paint magazines. Grab one of the "Paint your first hot rod, pt 1-3" series and give it a whirl.

You may want to consider take some autobody classes at a local community college. That's what I'm doing right now. I was amazed at all the things I thought where the right way to do things was actual the wrong way or atleast the expensive way! You may even be able to paint you car while taking the course. I'm hoping to paint my Mustang next summer after I finish advance painting. You may even qualify for finacial aid. I'm using my GI bill. Oh and part of the course is welding!

The problem with what your wanting is that you have to have hands on will someone is teaching you. Just getting the information is only the beginning

This is a very time consuming hobby even when you know what your doing. Its great you want to learn but to truely understand things you need to get hooked up with someone willing to teach you. If you do find someone to teach you be prepared for tough love teaching. We dont like wasting our time so we have to make sure your serious.
