i know that all of the big 3 had their "back door" specials but i haven't heard of any other manufacturer's dealers having their own "special" editions
there is a muscle car only magazine that deals mostly with restorations instead of restomods that would probably be a good source of information on this subject...i can't remember the name but they mag has been around for awhile (20+ years)

ever hear of shelby mustangs or shelby daytonas ? i think all of the big three were into up grading factory rides to factory muscles. there were several in the 60`s and early 70`s up-fitting muscle cars. YENKO was only one of them. that dealer do cars from novas and camaros to corvettes and corvairs, thats hard to believe but true.

well,.....i knew that ford sent the boss 429 cars "out" to have the shock towers reworked and the motors installed before they were shipped to the dealer
i always thought that the shelby editions were all built at the factory like the (forgive the comparison) eddie bower editions...i didn't think that the cars (fords or dodges) were actually shipped to shelby's shop for modification, which again would have happened before being delivered to the dealer
yenko was a chevy dealer as well as a modifier
maybe my thinking was too narrow for the question

this may be a different direction from what you were thinking with the question, but...
during the 60's and 70's there were a lot of dealer sponsored nascars...of course nascar was a totally different animal back then...no cereal, candy, or tv channel sponsorships...it was all colas (pepsi, coke, mountain dew, RC), beer, tobacco, oil, and car parts manufactures...the necessities of life

well, yenko was in cannonsburg, pennsylvania...don't know of any currently operated performance enhancing dealerships...however, scoggin-dickey (an apparently large distributor of GMPP) is all the rage of a couple of the magazines

Dodge had Grand Spaulding and Mr. Norm's dealerships that made cars simular to Yenko, however not to the degree of yenko (special engine blocks, ect). I don't believe ford had dealers that did anything of that nature.
Current rides- 94 Chevy Camaro- v6 auto 97 F-150- 4.6l auto 4x4 73 AMC AMX- 304 auto buying a '71 Javelin SST parts car to speed up the AMX's return to the road after 5 years in hiding. ----Its loud, its crude, its rusty and as long as I own it, I'm happy.-----

You can order a brand new 1000hp twin turbo hennesy camaro from the right dealers if you have got the cash Yes there was many others besides yenko baldwin motion is building 69 camaros again yenko vicky and baldwin motion built camaros in 2000 something. People must also consider you can get your ass handed to you by a cadillac 11 flat in a 2009 cts-v fastest 4-dr sedan in the world I am considering buying one and yes it will beat a honda civic and out handle the rest of the rice it is based on the z-r1 corvette
