Does anyone have a diagram for connecting a toggle to the torque converter lockup? My ride is a 1986 Chevy C-10 with a healthy 355. The problem I am having is the converter locks at 30mph. It lugs like crazy in town unless I keep in second. The kits like B&M's with adjustable speed control are just to much money. I heard the toggle should go on the ground and not the positive side. Any help is appreciated.

i take it that you have it wired through the additional connectors on the brake light switch?????

4 wire gm brake light switches ...   with the button pushed in...  the rear terminals are open... the side terminals are closed...   when the button is released... the rear terminals close and the side terminals open...

when your foot is off the brake pedal.. the button is pushed in by the pedal.   when you touch the brakes.. it moves away letting the button extend...

so when you touch the brake it disconnects the TCC..... right..   the truck should already be wired that way...

you might look at how they wired up 80 or 81 chevy vans..   they had a vacuum switch hooked up to ported vacuum with a vacuum restrictor on the line to slow down the signal...  i hope your carb has a ported vacuum port... not all ***

ported vacuum is 0 at idle and increases with air flow through the venturi...   so you could also use an adjustable vacuum switch to fine tune your lock up...

i would think that getting one of the vacuum gauges that is called a fuel pump pressure tester vacuum gauge...  they are under 20 bucks...   hook it up to various ports... see what kinds of vacuum signals you can get...

No what I need is a switch between the brake switch and trans so I can manually turn it off. Do you know which wire grounds the brake switch? I have the torque converter lock up switch that is operated by vacuum from the factory if I knew the ground on that switch I could tap into it.
