Found this web series, pretty f'n funny. I've definitely experienced dealerships like Action Auto...

I remember looking for my first (used) car, telling the Sales Manager at this garbage dealership that I didn't want to finance, and having him say, "Gotcha. Makes sense. Now, we DO have a plan where you can pay over time..."

new car dealers make their money on the markup (msrp) how else can they give thousands back in incentives and stay in business
used car dealers make most of their money on the financing...unbelievable interest rates figured into the price/time continueum
when you want to pay cash, especially at the places we now have to shop for project fodder, you are cutting deep into their profit margin
a local new car dealer stopped paying Chrysler for new cars and got locked down in the late 1980's
same people (family) started used car dealer and made front page of Sunday paper (and five more pages inside the paper) about four years ago after several customers had been charged upwards of $100/week/18-24months for a 15+ yr. old import cars with 180k+ miles and the cars would run for 2 or 3 months before major (engine/transmission) repairs were needed and the cars were no longer drivable but the customers still owed 15-18 months worth of payments on undrivable cars
car lot changed names in this city but likely still owned by same people
making a profit is all part of business but to blatantly take advantage of someone in between a rock and a hard place just burns my tailpipes
- the red-headed step-child of the mailing list
fuzzy dice, air shocks & N50's rule
