i have a 400 small block chevy with a 383 stroke crank shaft " how or what can i do to  make this motor legal under a 360 rule .....

personally i'd suggest saving your apparently original 400 and build a .060 over 350, or .040 over with an offset ground crank

but to answer your question, car craft or hot rod did an article about a dozen years ago called "the 350 chevy should have built"...they destroked a 400 block using a 3.00" stroke crank from a 302, using rods from a 300" ford I6 (for length, as i recall), and pistons to fit the 400 block (don't recall exactly what pistons or bore size)

while being an interesting combo, it seems like a lot of work to stay inside class rules, but that is your call
