Problems with sbc shaft rockers and head studs...

My sbc has a really nice set of HVH heads, comps behive springs and head studs. I bought a set of pro comp 1.6 shaft rockers and the head stud is to tall and hits the bottom of the base plate for the shaft rockers. Actually its the nut that is to tall. Its not much about .030. Im wondering if I can put a shim under the base plate for the rockers to lift them the .030 I need. As far as I can tell, I dont see why not. It dosent seem like enough height to affect the geometry. Need to know soon as I want to get the pushrods orderd. Thanks for any answers.
THERE ARE 2 KINDS OF CHEAP PARTS..THOSE YOU SCORE FOR A CHEAP PRICE AND THOSE THAT ARE CHEAP MADE.

If I'm understanding you right the rocker shaft will clear the stud but not the nut. Am I also correct in thinking that since the nut is the problem that the stud does not go completely through the nut? If this is the case I would grind the nut as the part that is not on the stud is not performing any service. If you raise the rocker shaft by .030 you should also get .030 longer valves to keep the geometry the same. You might also check into some valve lash caps as these can add height to the valve without getting new valves. Just some thoughts.

Same idea. I also thought that what he wanted to convey about the rocker shaftis that it will clear the stud and not the nut. I suggest that you just use the valve lash caps as aside from giving it additional height, it also maintain accurate valvetrain adjustment.
