well.. the california highway patrol used to have camaros.... and mustangs... caprices.. crown victorias... now they are getting mopars...
out here in so cal.... the used police cars go on for many years after their public service ... as taxi's....
almost all of them are truly cared for... properly maintained... driven like they were stolen... used to chase bad guys..
the ballistic armor is usually removed before they are sold...
there is usually very little pocket change found under the seats...
where to buy them.... torrance blvd exit off the 110... just south of the 405... that is were you will find them... but where are you at?????
i kinda get upset with them selling off cars long before they are tired out... or crashed... fleets ... were you have only model year differences... you take non wear parts from one to keep another going.. you don't sell off the crashed units.. you strip them for usable parts... engines, transmissions, dashboards, doors,. windows, suspension parts, radiators, fenders, grills,
the only thing that would get replaced new would be brake parts, shocks, and tires...
when the door hinge bushings start to fail.. the doors sag.. the rank and file think the unit if falling apart and needs to be scrapped... nobody ever lubes the hinge bushings.. very few ever get replaced... just order a new car...
