Ok, thanks all I wanted was an answer to my question without being told a bunch of stuff that did not help me out. Thanks for everything and sorry if I made you mad or if I was an ass about anything.

Guy's i just could not resist telling you what i'm running on the street this year on 93 octane pump gas. 358 ci. Brodix 11x alum heads ported, polished and bench flowed by Indy cylinder head started at 225cc dont have flow sheet yet. Reed solid roller 262/267 @50 618/625 106 separation. Crower 180 degree offset pressurized solid rollers. Jesel offset pedestal roller rockers ss series. Scat light weight crank with mallory. Eagle 6" H-beam rods. JE 12.1 to 1 light weight pop-ups. Edelbrock Pro-Flow 2 multi port fuel inj. with 44lb injectors.
Think it's going to be a *** load of fun to make this run on the street as basicly a daily driver.

Yes I am. I sure as hell did not learn any thing from you dude. What does being in retail and whole sale have to do with engine building standing around in a shop or at the track does not mean you have engine building experience. Oh i see you get offended when you come across some one that knows more then you so you have to pick a argument or make a a** out of your self. To say you know what works better than me is a opinion not a fact because you have know clue of what knowledge I have and I'm willing to say its more than yours but you never know so state the facts and not pure B.S. It is not how long you have been doing something its how long you have been doing it right. Your right I really do not know you and you don't know me and my costumers and the people that know me will tell you that I know my engines and am honest about it if I don't know I will tell you that nothing wrong with not knowing no one knows every thing. Not going to continue to argue with you any more. Chevelle 311 if you need anything let me know will be glad to help also feel free to pm me if you like no need to apologize because nitronerd wants to make a ignorant jack a** of him self. Have a great week every body what is left of it.

About how many miles are 383 strokers good for if I keep good care of it and only take it to the track 2 or 3 times a year.

If built right and you use good quality parts and the clearances are not set to lose it should see a lot of miles a buddy of mine has a street driven 383 and it has 70,000+ miles and is still going strong.

When i recently tore down my 383 with north of 50,000 on it there was absolutly zero ring ridge in the bores. This 383 had a 3.75 stroke with 6" rods which required pistons with highly placed wrist pins that ran through the center of the oil rings thus requiring spacers on the oil rings. This engine was 10.7 to 1 never burned a drop of oil and the bearings looked perfect and was driven year round in temps from -20 to 100 degrees. This engine was apprximently 470hp and i belive i could easily have run it to 150,000 miles. I will never say anything but good about 383's.

The block is a 2-bolt main and I will be useing ARP rod bolts, ARP main studs, and ARP head studs, and ARP intake bolts. Well all the bolts/studs will be ARP, will this be strong enough for the amount of HP and TQ the 383 will be making and what would be the max safe RPM. The rotating assembly has a cast crank rated for 500HP and forged rods, with hyper pistons.

The maximum safe RPM will be 6500RPM.

I was looking at the performer RPM air gap intake and it says for off road use only, why is this and will I be ok running it on the street, because this is the intake I want to buy.

It says off road use only because it is not emissions legal. If you do not have to pass exhaust emissions test in your area it will be just fine.

Ok. Is the RPM air gap better for power than the regular RPM intake or are they about the same.

i have a similar set up stroker with hyper pistons and cast crank, i asked supplier about max RPM at the time of purchase and was told 6500 point being, ask parts supplier and buy in kit form, i.e., crank, rods, pistons, and if needed offset weighted flywheel/flexplate and damper
the RPM air gap is better for performance because of the air gap, the heat of the motor doesn't directly heat the bottom of the intake plenum and in turn helps to insulate the intake air charge from the engines heat

I found a 401 chevy stroker on carcraft under tech, heres the link.
http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/401_inch_chevy_stroker/index.html
Can I make this out of an old 350 block like a 383 and just have it clearanced more or is the stoke to long to fit in a old 350 block because it would need to be clearanced to much.

the article says that a later model mexican casting Goodwrench block was used because they have more material left in critical areas after clearancing as opposed to earlier factory blocks
