This is my 1st car. im 18 and in highschool but im the only one in my school that takes pride in building and working on cars. Its kind of becoming a lost tradition in my generation. My car is a 1992 Lumina Z34. I take it to car shows and get mixed reactions some like it and think its cool, but others feel as if its just another wanna be muscle car. In my own eyes i believe it is a modern age muscle car.

My 1977 Buick Skylark was my first car. One of only a small handful of cars in the lot pre-1985. It was orignally a 231 V-6, all through highschool and college. I took it every where though, even got a 200-r4 at one point. The best part is I could do what ever I wanted to it and the value couldn't possibly go lower
It was all silver in high school, this picture was taken six or seven years after I graduated.

The first engine I tried building for it. It was more of a garage refreshing and no machining, and a set of bad unchecked rods quickly doomed it. Note the TKO-600 5-speed though.

I put the 455 engine from my Centurion in it shortly after the first as a temporary fix.

New engine with all the bells and whistles is going in later this week (the Centurion engine is back in the Centurion now)

It's ~10:1 compression, has ported heads with Stage1 Valves, and going EFI with a T/A SPX intake manifold and 1,000cfm throttle body.
- The Silver Buick- '77 Skylark coupe w/ a Fuel Injected Buick 455&TKO-600, '72 Centurion Conv't - 455w/TH400, '67 T-bird 4Dr (suicide) w/428&C6. Needing to replace a '69 Firebird 400.

Im not sure how to put pics on here, but the car isn't worth showing anyways, An 1983 Camaro with the POS 305 and 700r4 with a one legger rear was my high school car. It saw much abuse and burnouts. One time i was doin about 80 on a back road and went airbourne over a hill, then out of no where came a pot hole that caught the front cross member and sheared 3 of the 6 bolts that hold the cradle/subframe. another time i was haulin a** through this construction site and had massive understeer through this corner and went straight into the curb at about 45 and busted the lip of the wheel off, the amazing part is the tire still held air!!!!
AAhhh, good memories <img src='/_siteconfigs/_global/images/community/bbcode/cool.gif'> All hail smokin out the wendy's parking lot and gettin whoops from construction workers

well granted my high school years were back in the early 80's when decent muscle was common place, but my first school parking lot rod was a 1972 chevelle with 396 and 4 speed, cammed headers and better carb, it was top dog for a year then a buddie got his hands on a 74 cuda that was completely clapped out, and blew my doors off, traded the chevelle for a 70 dart gts the next day, 340 sixpack pistol grip all the cool stuff. guys still ask me about that car to this day. god those were the days. get a muscle car for a shotgun and a case of beer and then help him drink it.

I wish I had pictures of it still. It was a 1983 Mercury Zypher. It had a bullet proof six cylinder from hell in it. I wasn't that into cars then and had no idea how much potential that car had until later on. My friends and I would take it on the back roads and take turns learning the finer points of early apexing on dirt and gravel. My grandma gave it to me in 96 with 37000 original old lady miles on it. I put 17000 miles on it the first year I had it. Most of those at full throttle either power sliding or jumping railroad tracks. I rear ended a guy one morning and busted the radiator. Being a car novice, I just parked it on the hill and let the cancer take it's toll. The only bit of redemption is that when I finally sold it for a few hundred dollars I used the money to buy my first V-8 powered vehicle, a rusted out 1986 Chevy truck. The motor didn't look like much but turned out to be a 406 with tons of torque. That started my obsession. Long live the grey goose!

I must say that my favorite car is my 1966 Dodge Dart GT. My dad and I bought it when I was 16. We tinkered with it a bit then I got an awesome deal on a 1973 Dodge Charger and forgot the old Dart. Long story short the Charger was okay but I never could find the time for all the work it needed. We pulled the 318 and gave it to that old yeller Dart in exchange for that tired 273 and my Dad had it waiting (minus hood and ugly as hell yellow paint) for me as I exited my graduation ceremony. I drove it all over that summer and then we embarked on a journey to replace the valve covers and rebuild the front suspension. I am now 25 and my old friend is sitting in my backyard torn down, primed, waiting for paint and the new parts we bought for it. The worst part is that I am going blind and cannot drive anymore so I have to sell it. I know that I will regret it forever but what do you do?
