Pookie, what is your budget?  There is power to be had from any motor, but it is a lot easier and cost effecient to get it from a 350 than a 305.  If you are looking to score a 350, you won't have to look far. Any junkyard or swapmeet will be crawling with motors for your car.  Craigslist and racingjunk.com are also decent places to find small blocks. I don't know how familiar you are with inspecting motors but if you are new to this I would suggest getting a friend who is more experienced or a mechanic to help you decide on buying something you haven't heard run. Even experienced gear heads get burned from time to time so exercise a little restraint and common sense.
