I think I remember a teaser for a parasitic loss rear end comparo a year or two ago. I dont remember my subscription lapsing, yet I can't recall this coming to fruition. Anybody else wishing this would happen ? Parasitic loss comparos would be awesome. I recently read a "Install a 200r4 behind an LS" article that had me wondering how does it compare to the 4L80e in parasitic loss. Help me build this thing right the first time. Anybody with me ?

i have about 5 mag. subscriptions. but, i could have swarn i saw the article in carcraft. they were using the white 66 chevelle and 3 diff. rearend swaps on a dyno. from personal experience, i had a stock 7.5 rear in my t/a with 3.42 gears and then swapped to a 9" with 3.50 gears. the car slowed down .15 in the 8th mile and dropped about 2 mph. with no other changes. later i swapped to a 12 bolt with 3.73s and picked up about .1 tenth.

yeah, cc did an article between the 12 bolt, a ford 9 inch, and an s60 rear axle. all three were installed in a 66 chevelle.

i know it was in 08, i just forget what month. i'm sure the article's available on the cc.com homepage

one of the rear end companys actually makes a 12 bolt chevy aluminum carrier that will bolt into a 9" ford housing...

and a tip when searching ... after the first search.. the term comes up in a window on the left side..... pull down that menu... and select one to search the entire magazine site...  you will find many articles in magazines you never heard of..
