I've developed a recent interest in 6 cylinders.  A good engine choice is the 300 ci (4.9 litter) ford.  There are a lot of them and they are reliable.  Also with lots of displacement, they make decent power.  However, I'm wondering if it will fit in a typical GM A-body (64-72 chevelle, skylark, lemans, cutlass, etc).  Will it be too long or too high?  Another possibility is the Chevy 292 - same questions for that engine - I think the length will be ok bu I think it is a taller engine.
