Ok so i've abandoned hop on my 23 T-Bucket and it is currently for sale. but there is a car that i've always liked and really want to get one. a 1967 Chevy II Nova. is it worth the time and effort to get one or do you think there is a better car out there? it would be a slightly modded show car with nice wheels, lowered and a nice loud exhaust system. any opinions?

Certainly there are scads of whips better than a '67 Nova. Ramblers, Yugos, Pacers, Gremlins, Eagle Concordes and Spirits, Chevettes, Citations, Tempos, Pintos, Vegas, Iacocca's Chrysler K-Cars . . . who could list'em all?
Grumpy Jenkins is mostly responsible for the excessive price of '66-'67 Novas as a fair number of Walter Mittys fancy themselves building a wicked small-block "Deuce" emulating the ones Jenkins Competition made famous.
Vince Piggins also shares the blame. He disregarded the clear intent of GM's Board of Directors to stay out of racing by slamming some Corvette-style 327s into the narrow confines of a Nova.
Others responsible for driving up the price of these ancient tin boxes are Bill Thomas(of instant Nova funny car fame), Scott Sullivan (Mr. Pro Street), and even a hoard of guys who keep building thinly-veiled professional race cars out of '66-'67 Novas for Drag Week, Pump Gas Drags (well not so much anymore) and "fastest street car" competition.
Sure, '67 Novas have a decent power-to-weight ratio when properly equipped and are about the newest hardtop compact that's not a pony car or wearing a Pentastar. And new technology has mostly nullified the ill-effects of the Nova's flexi-flyer chassis, minimal brakes, and the too-tight fender wells.
But is that enough reason follow the madding crowd by building one?
