Please, put down the PORNO MAG and LEARN HOW TO SPELL!

Actually, the MARCH 2009 issue of CC is outstanding. No space wasted on CC's trashy and gratuitous blend of skanks and wantabe pro models (with their own self-promoting websites) and boring gimme t-shirts  (better known as "On the Rack").

Instead, CC's overworked, under-compensated "fire team" of editors jam-packed the March 2009 issue with these SMOKIN' nuggets:

--Corn-fed 514 Super Cobra Jet-powered, gasser-style '65 Thunderbolt clone (page 11);

--Forklift burnout shot (page 12);

--Hideous Camaro ON FIRE! (pgs. 14-15);

--Danny Tyner's 2007 Dynomax "Power to the Wheels" championship-winning 1,776 wheel-horsepower twin-turbo B-I-G Ford-in-a-Ford Falcon (pg. 16);

-- D-I-Y Performance Short-Block "Tips and Tricks" (page 30);

-- "Trick out your stock heads"  (page 36);

--1,000 h.p.-ready automatic transmission build (page 40);

--Tire-smoking Buick 400 in a '67 GS (page 44);

--Hydroboost brake booster install (in another Buick)(page 48);

--Foose-style '62 Ford Galaxie 500 (CC Quickies, page 54);

--An '83-'86 Ford Thunderbird with a modified '50 Ford-style rhinoplasty (CC Quickie, page 57);

--An Olds and a Plymouth in Krass & Bernie (page 59);

--Dan Schoneck's 1,000 h.p. DOHC FORD-in-a-Ford Shelby GT500 (page 62)(Just imagine how hot it would be if he dumped the Procharger F-1R for a brace of turbos . . . or a Roots/Turbo twincharger set-up);

--Bud Honnert's uber-sano 514 Super Cobra Jet-powered '67 Ford Fairlane (page 68);

--John LaCasse's '68 Biscayne (page 74);

--"Junkyard Crawl" Mopar B-Bodies (page 88).

The number of pages in CC are down because of the bad economy and reduced ad spending. But at least Doug Glad had the GOOD SENSE to cut out "On the Rack" and not tech or car features.

BTW, if you want to see the "girls-n-cars" thing done correctly, pick up a copy of "Hot Rod Deluxe."  The last two months of HRDM have been outstanding (no tattoo-covered greaser chicks or underwear models. Instead elegant "parts with appeal" photo shoots)

CC doesn't need to waste any of its paltry 90 pages on broads (unless they bring the cars they crafted themselves to the track).  Cutting out "On the Rack" was a definite improvement!

For the edification of "Belairbanger" and others who apparently only look at CC for the pictures and don't check to see if there are already threads on a topic before lanuching a new rant, I'm bumping this thread.

Note to BOBSTEURCADDY:

Using the search function to resurrect yet another dead "On the Rack" thread for your "first post" is annoyingly clever.

But what makes "Car Craft Car Craft" isn't "On the Rack" or the Troxley CarTOONS or even the wise-guy quips.  (Certainly there are better magazines mixing tech and "lighthearted" content, such as MOPAR ACTION)

What brought CC back was "Affordable Street Performance." Brand diversity and quality tech are what keep long-time readers resubscribing.

There's a huge gap between reading like a "shop manual" and wasting some of CC's paltry 90 pages on C-Store clerks and semi-pro models hawking skin and t-shirts.   Mopar Action doesn't need a monthly t-shirt contest and neither does CC.

Why is it that most of the people posting on this subject only one or just a few posts on the message board?

I don't miss "Rack" when it's not in CC.

BTW, I'm not real fond of posters calling women "chicks," "broads" or "babes."  It seems a little antiquated and sexist to me.
