Little bro Said 350 olds bare block is the same size as a 350 Chevy bare block. Looking for other car guy’s aspect on this. I told him a Chevy 350 bare block is smaller but he doesn't believe his brother even with blocks side-by-side still don't believe.

Pretty sure the Olds block is wider.  442.com, I believe, has the dimensions of both...but I can't get on the site right now.

TELL little bro that the olds, buick and pontiac blocks are wider than the pee-wee chevy blocks and that is fact.

i concure.
olds blocks are wider on the oil pan rail.
but intake/ head to head is the same size.
the cam was raised in the block as well.
if you want a cheap factory heavy duty block. pick up an olds 350 diesle block.
there suposed to be as heavy duty as an aftermarket performance block.
last month i see one for $200.00  what a steal...
ample clearance for a 3.875 stroke stock.
i want a tall deck block, but i should still get one of those, or as many as i can.

To bad the Olds 350 never became as popular as the Chevy 350 because the Olds was a much better engineered engine.
