I have a 96 GMC sierra with a ran down L31 5.7 Vortec. Instead of buying a new truck I want to build a new engine with more power and more torque. I already have a brand new Monster 4l60e transmission i bought 3 months ago that was built for up to 500 HP and 550lbs of tourque. So im wanting to build a new 350 but i need some help on a set up because i want to also put a supercharger on it. What kind of block, cam, crank, intake, ect will i need? please help. im up for any suggestions or ideas. thanks.

its going to be a daily driver but im going to put a 3 inch suspension lift on it with a little bigger beefy tire on it. It probably wont see any track but wont be afraid to do a little bit of street performance.

You've got some options here.

The first would be to take the motor in your truck now and rebuild it. I'd go ahead and get a stroker kit and make it a 383 to give you plenty of torque to turn the bigger tires. A good set of aluminum heads with a matched cam, the right valvetrain accessories, you'd be good to go.

Your other option is to get one of GM Performance Parts' 383HT crate motors. They're designed specifically for trucks like yours, make over 400HP out of the box, and will drop right in and work with all your existing accessories and intake, and the stock computer without having to tune the computer.

Dont rebuild the 350 and dont buy a crate motor. A buddy of mine has a beautiful high sierra with the biggest mudders that can fit, its lifted 5 inches with a 383 and 3 inch pipes. It sounds like an 800 horse big block fender shaker. I've driven it and it will roast those big tires like you wouldnt believe. The 383 is the way to go. Oh' and make sure you get the right rotating kit. because, if you dont, it will cost you over a grand in machine work. i'm not sure but I think eagle has a kit that will drop right in and you wont have to grind down on the sides of the crankcase for clearance. Besides, 383's are cool builds!

don't waiste your money on a fully forged rotating set.
you can easily run a eagle, or scat balanced 383 rotating assembly in your motor with no worries.their like $900.
even if you push it to 650hp at the flywheel.
a mild supercharger with 5psi of boost would really wake it up.
you can run 9.5 compression. easily. run a 224@cam at .050
get the beehive springs. if it already has a factory roller cam. great. if not it's like $800 conversion.
i'd use a centrifugal super charger.  you could run 10psi boost. but you'd be looking at pushing the main caps off the motor. with a factory block.
i'd actually run a 210-219degree cam at .050 intake with a 112 - 114 lobe seperation angle. this will up the milage some, and it won't leave you power hungry if your really going to supercharg it.
i'd use a 2000-2500rpm stall.
i'm guessing at 4.11 gear set with 33"swampers.
i bow to someone who has a better idea, but i think that will work good.
i'd probably use 4.56 gears with a 224 cam.

if you have the money a twin screw supercharger would really unleash the beast.

your tranny will end up being a very weak link. get a big, big tranny cooler. it'd be smart to put a temp guage in it.

maybe this helps maybe it don't. good luck.
