Yes. That motor still used an LA block, so the bolt pattern should be the same.

any way i tore into the engine and come to find out that it is indeed a 360 but the engine id tag says 318. the piston part #s are for a 360. the motor is shot i believe and wanted to find a useable core to rebuild. a neighbor said a 318 is the same as the 360. I think he is B S ing me, but can someone please tell me if it is or not. I know they are both LA motors, but I dont believe they are the same.

Yeah, Im going through a simular situation. The new LA series blocks, will bolt up. Im working on a '67 Fury III, new Hemi conversion possibility. The 360 and the 318 are swappable, and most every part ffrom the 360 can be used to build up a 318. Many upgrades that Ive looked into for my 318 were parts pulled off 360 donors.

the 318 / 273 uses different motor mounts than the 340 / 360 - driver's side has an offset.... However everything else will bolt up. If the 318 is not a magnum then the valvetrain, cam, lifters, heads, intake are different than the 360 Magnum.

Why people believe a 318 is the same as a 360 is beyond me. Sure they look the same but they have different bore size and stroke size. The 360 has a 4" bore and a 3.58" stroke. When built right there power delivery is best described as explosive and violent rather than Lexus smooth and linear. Good luck with the build.
