if you have single a position crank sprocket...

but... be sure that you check the compression on the number one spark plug hole when you do that.. as that is where the dizzy needs to line up on....

when on a small block chevy... when the cam mark is down and the crank mark is up.. that is #6 top dead center... one crank turn from being where you want to drop the dizzy in at.. \\

you also want to install the fuel pump with the engine set at tdc #1  compression ... as that is where the fuel pump cam lobe is fully off the push rod...

use a dip stick straight down through the top of the opening and work it behind the push rod..   then push the dipstick back with the pump lever and drop the pump in..   this removes the need to push the rod back or use the bolt through the front to hold it in place...

makes changing the fuel pump on chevys easy... no fighting it...

No, the cam gear dot will be 6 o clock and the crank gear dot at 12 o clock.
