Can anyone tell me what kind of heads i have ? casting number is 3782461

Those are 1964-66 327 camel hump heads with 62CC combustion chambers, 160cc/62cc port volumes and have no accessory holes. They came with 1.94/1.50 or 2.02/1.60 valves.

I guess the only way to really tell is if i pull the heads off and check size of valves or is there another way ?

"Fuelie" heads were the 327 heads used with the fuel injected version of the 327, mostly found in 2nd Generation Corvettes. They had 2.02/1.60 valves. Also, check your casting numbers to see if there is an 'X' at the end. That cast had 2.02/1.60's with 63cc chambers, and were found on some 283's, as well as the 327. Without the 'X', yes you will have to pull the heads off of your engine and measure your valves, as there were the 2 different types that Pontiac specified.

Thanks for the info.I have a 73 corvette that has a slight lean to it if you measure the wheel well its about 1/2 inch off from one side to another could it be one of  the front springs and how can i tell ?  Hate to pull it out and find out thats not the problem.

With suspension, I'm not too sure, could be a fualty spring, but usually when the spring goes, the car gets wildly lopsided. Possibly and bad shock, or strut, which make the car rely on the spring to support the weight, or you might want to check your body mounts for your frame. My Malibu looks higher on the driver side, than the passenger side. The front and rear body mounts are rusted and when you put the car on the rack, it get REALLY noticeable. Lastly, you could have a frame that is twisting under the torque of the engine. It is rare, but I had a roommate with a 79 Firebird, he had a Poncho 301 in it and there were stress fractures above his driver side door. Of course he did hole shots at every stop light, and stop sign.

just curious on the lean... is the drivers side high????

did you measure it with you in it.?????

there is a guy on ebay that sells frame dimension charts ...under 10 bucks..  

you need to place a rod or board across the hood opening...  use a plumb bob hung over the board and drop it onto the inside of the upper control arm mounting brackets that are welded to the top of the frame..  mark where the string is over the board..  measure between it and compare it to the frame chart...  

gm cars do to the design.. along with others tend to bend the cross member under the motor..  think of the leverage imposed by the suspension..  outward  and downward on the lower control arm bushing bolt... inward on the upper control arm shaft..   this is all held up by the cross member..

if it is bent.. you can also tell as the motor mount bolts won't slide in easy.. they are off  center...

when it goes to the frame shop...     hopefully.. they will set the caster with shims...  then add enough shims that there are a minimum of 2, 1/8 shims under each bolt...   they can then see which side is bent farther in.. put the car up on the frame rack jacks... pull the tires.. hang chains up, over and behind the upper control arms..  loop both chains to themselfs...  slide in a jacking beam...    put a 20 or 30 ton bottle jack towards the side that needs more correction...  put a steel plate on top of the jack under the cross member to stop damage and spread the load...  this takes some experiance..  and some guts... i have done it in my  driveway.. but i have alignment gauges... a jacking beam ( 5" W beam instead of I beam) and a pair of frame pulling chains...

warning.. be sure that you do not pop the lower ball joints out of the lower control arms... it has happened to me..  it only takes 30 minutes to do this after finding out which side is bent more...

the car will be a lot higher..    and one last thing.. check all the suspension bushings...   make sure the bolt passes through the middle...  not offset...

Its the drivers side that has the lean its 1/2 inch lower than other side. I jacked up front left a little  and took another measurement it seemed to level out all measurments were 29 1/2 inches from tip of wheel well to the ground thats why iam thinking its the front drivers side spring.let the jack down and right side jumps back up to 30 inches from ground.It does seem that this is a problem with the older vettes because i looked @ a 68 vette and it had the same problem im probally the only one that looks @ these things.
