I recentlly posted a question about a 454 in a 81 g-body(how difficult it would be to install or adapt to it) but, as of today I acquired a disassembled 455 olds engine. What would be my best option the 455 for the monster torque or the 454 for the more options in parts. this is the first car that I've ever own(20 years) and is time for a BB engine. what would be my best choice.

You should probably be able to use the same era Cutlass motor mounts to drop the engine in. You will need a Buick/Olds/Pontiac specific transmission.

The advantage of the Olds motor is that externally it's smaller than a BBC, so it'll be easier to fit in your G-body.

Exactly, with Cutlass motor mount frame pads the Olds should drop right in.

go with the olds man, less parts availability but would make a great cruiser with all the low end torque, and they are pretty reliable.

I would drop in the Olds 455. It's different and like you already know its one heck of a torque monster. I dropped one into a 79 Trans Am years ago and got a whole new respect for Olds motors and the power they can produce. Parts are a little more expensive to buy but they are out there so you won't have any problems locating what you need.
