I bought this car thinking i could work on it to fix it up..well at my age you dont have much money so im in a nasty debt hole that an 18 year old should not be in..

The car runs well..i have replaced several pieces such as wires and batteries.

The exterior is dented in several places...there is also some rust but it is mainly on the dented panels that can be replaced..

the interior needs work...no power anything( no radio or ac)

its spray painted purple with leopard interior but black seats.

i would like to see 3000 for this car but probably wont get it so best offers will be considered..

pictures will be up some time this week

call 703-898-4047 with any questions

So i got a job and im actually thinking about keeping the car but i feel i am bringing shame to old cars because i dont have the money or the parts to make this car look good and run well.

Im open to anyone offering parts for cash or free...
Right now i need alot of body panels
-right front
-passenger door
-rear passenger door
-hood
-trunk

The mechanicals also need work like
-new radiator
-drive shaft
-transmission is going
-carb and intake are losing it
-engine is strong but i would love to replace it

The interior needs some work
-radio
-only speedometer works so i would love to fix the rest of the gauges
-ac
-no power anything
-dash needs to be replaced

Im still looking for offers to sell it but if anyone has any of these parts and would like to sell them to me i would be very grateful

ya.. know... this is not really a place to sell cars...  craigs list moves them faster.

old cars are expencive... but they can be done a piece at a time...

and you can drive a sows ear for a while... till you can afford to make it into a silk purse..

i have a friend with 2   67 fairlane 500s...   if he would just concentrate on getting them running properly instead of trying to reengineer them into corner racers he would be much farther along...

carbs are easy to rebuild...  trannys are not hard either... the c4s that came in these are some of the simplest ones to work on..  buy the book... 15 bucks...atsg manual,

i have even had to replace the window regulator winders with ones i removed from rear window units..  drilled out the 3 rivets and swapped in the shaft... used tiny machine screws to hold it in place...   BE CAREFUL OF THE BIG SPRING ON THEM./////// when the shaft if freed up .. the spring will swing the arm and take off fingers... or more...     hammer any worn teeth on an anvil to bring them back to full height.

sand the outer... brush on a coat of primer..  clean it.. wash everything.. it will be so much better ...

the thing is i do have the time to rebuild it becuase its my daily driver...so..i mean it runs but the radiator is clogged with rust...plus after driving about 30 mins the car makes a pop sound when accelerating...the sound comes from either the transmission or driveshaft(no mechanics seem to no)

would your buddy be interested in selling some body panels or original parts that he takes off...

i would rather this car look like it just came out of the store than be able to beat anyone on the track

he gets most of them from ebay or local junk yards... and i am out here on the west coast...

find a radiator shop that rods out radiators... they unsolder the top and stick a thin metal strip into the tubes to push the debris out.. that is how it has been done for 70 years..  price a new one at several places first... out here.. carrying it in.. the charge 70 bucks to do it.. new ones for that car are double that...

as for the loud pop..... i would look at the rear end U bolts....  they may be loose... or the housing may be slipping around inside them... same thing on the fastbacks out here... one u bolt almost wore through the housing tube...

o ok.thanks...ya this car has so much charcater that i cant go back to driving little japanese cars.

Parts are hard though cus i have a very low cash budget and junk yards around me dont seem to carry any old cars other than chevy

i have also heard about doin the radiator thing...so its only like 100 bucks to do

the car is still for sale...im located in woodbridge virginia...

Its still sitting in my driveway...engine is dead but for 600 dollars i can get a 1987 ford 460 with transmission and transfer case, which leaves only a driveshaft, rear axle, and recored radiator.....or you could just drop the original 289 or 302 in it and keep everything else.
