I HAVE JUST ABOUT THE SAME SETUP IN MY EL CAMINO. 406 WITH AFR 195 HEADS THAT ARE PORTED. HYD ROLLER CAM WITH THE SAME SPECS AS YOURS SPEEDPRO HYD ROLLER LIFTERS CRANE 1.6 FULL ROLLER ROCKERS TRW FORGED FLATTOP 10 TO1 PISTONS 5.7 RODS EDELBROCK RPM MANIFOLD WITH A HOLLY 3310 750CFM CARB. THE ENG. DYNOS CAME IN AT ALMOST 450 HP AND CLOSE TO 500 FT LB TORQUE AT THE FLYWHEEL. MY ONLY PROBLEM IS TRYING TO GET IT TO HOOK WITH A 3.73 POSI. A WORD TO THE WISE, BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE RPMS WITH THE 4 BOLT BLOCK. KEEP THEM BELOW 6500 RPM AND THAT IS PUSHING THE ENVELOPE AS THE BOTTOM END OF THOSE ENGS. ARE A LITTLE WEAK. THE 2 BOLT BLOCK WITH AFTERMARKET SPLAYED MAIN CAPS IS THE BEST WAT TO GO.

Nice set up. Have you run it at the track or have an E.T.'s? How does that cam sound in the block?

I HAVE NOT HAD IT TO THE STRIP YET, THIS IS JUST MY STREET TOY. THE CAM HAS A DISTINCTIVE SLIGHT LOPE TO IT. IT IS RUN THRUGH FULL LENGTH HEADERS AND FLOWMASTERS 3IN EXHAUST THAT TURNS OUT ON BOTH SIDES JUST BEHIND THE REAR WHEELS. WHEN YOU GET DOWN ON IT IT SOUNDS TRULY OWESOME AND EVERYONE AROUND KNOWS YOU ARE COMING. I HAD A SET OF 295/50/15S AND COMPLETLY WORE THEM OUT. I NOW HAVE 275/60/15S WITH THE 373 POSI AND IT WILL LAY RUBBER JUST ABOUT AS LONG AS I HOLD IT DOWN AND IT PULLS LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN THRU 6000 RPM. I AM USING A TRICKED OUT 700R4 AND FIRST GEAR YOU HAVE TO GO VERY LIGHTLY OR IT JUST SITS THERE AND BUILDS UP I PILE OF RUBBER. SO FAR NOTHING HAS GOT BY ME YET, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHO WILL PULL UP NEXT TO YOU THE NEXT TIME. RICK BECK OF BRE ENGS CALLED ME LAST NIGHT AND WE TALKED SOME ABOUT THE TROUBLE I AM HAVING WITH THIS LOW OIL PRESSURE MOTOR AND HE GAVE ME ONE MORE THING TO LOOK AT THAT HE HAS RUN INTO ON OCCASION. SO I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO SEE HOW THAT TURNS OUT. I WILL POST MY FINDINGS WHEN I GET IT STRAIGHTENED OUT. HAL

Sounds like a nice setup. What else are you running in terms of a carb, rockers, intake...? I also have a posi 3.73 in the rear. Are you running stock or forged internals. The setup we are running is a 406 with Eagle4340 Crank, Eagle 5.7 4340 H-Beams, Keith Black 22cc dish hypereutectic pistons, Dart Iron Eagle 230cc ported, and same cam. Plan on runnin 1.6 pro-magnum or scorpion rockers with a Edelbrock RPM Air Gap and a maybe a 770 Street Avenger. Probably end up with a set of Heddman headers or hooker headers. Any thoughts on mating up a Holley 770 Street Avenger to a Edelbrock RPM Air Gap?

CHECK MY APRIL 5TH POST FOR THE SPECIFICS OF THE INETRNALS. I THINK THE RPM MANIFOLD ON THAT ENG WILL LOVE THE 770. THAT 770 WILL FLOW MORE THAN 770 PROBLY CLOSER TO 800 CFM. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PASS EVERYTHING BUT A GAS STATION. LOL HAL
