I've attended the Summer Nats as a participant for the last couple of years. Generally the event is pretty good but I have a few suggestions about how to improve it. Who would be the best person to contact?

Yes , I have an idea . How about adding drag racing to your program . Why Car Craft only has a show in Minnesota is beyond me . I attended the old Street Machine National at Raceway Park in NJ 1987 1988 , it was lame back then how none of the featured PRO STREET ( PROSLOW? ) cars would not go on the strip , except for Rick Dobbertin , but I think the world is different now . Performance is now the name of the game . The Midwestern sport of "Fairgrounds Cruising" Is laughable now . Maybe incorporate your RSE into the event .Maybe have one on the East coast .

yeah, something needs to be done about the burnout contest next year. this year was cool and all with people defying athority and lighting it up as they left, but we need some place where a full 30 sec run can be made without the cops breaking it up...

I was impressed with the turnout this year. I have been taking my '01 Dodge Stratus R/T up there since 2001 (yeah I know--- FWD, nobody bash me).
The whole deal with people saving spots overnite ticks me off. Half the saved spots I saw didn't get re-occupied until the afternoon each day.

For what it's worth, I have a few suggestions for you...
They need to get some vendors in there. It's absurd to have a show with 4000 participants and countless spectators but no vendors. The only big name vendors in attendance were MSD, Flowmaster and Brodix. Where were Mopar Performance, Ford Racing and GM Performance Parts? And where was Year One, Edelbrock and Holley?
I think the way that cars were let in on Saturday worked well. But, having a couple more gates open would make it a lot easier (and safer) to get in and out once the streets fill up with people. Take a look at how the MSRA controls traffic during "Back to the 50's". That event hosts over 10,000 cars, the MSRA really has a handle on things.
Charge the same price for registration as Car Craft shows on their website.
When is Car Craft going to update their website and post some Summer Nats event coverage? Last year there was daily updates during the event weekend.

They use to have it in 4 other states but the turn out and cars where lame! so the just kept the one going in Minnesota, 4300 cars. We are trying to get a track built again in Minnesota haven't had one in the cities since the 70's. should be good to go in 2005. good luck getting car craft nat's out east!! still cruise'n the fair grounds in 2004.....jimcuda

the cc nats has the possibility of becomming as big as the back to the 50's if someone could figure out that there is more than one gate. with how many cars that overheated while spending the majority of the morning just trying to get in should be proof that you need to open up some more gates. it should not take 45 minutes to get in a car show. another suggestion, keep it open longer than 5-6pm. and what the XXXX is with saving spots, if you cant get you sorry ass up you dont belong at the show. other than that excellent.

Greetings, I had a booth at the CCSN last year 2008, some things I would like to see help the vendors is a travling video person to interview vendors and show the video on the big screen.
Another thing that I would like to help Chev Performacne do is to have an engine build competition, have four teams and they have to assemble and engine and have it run for 30 sec. then have a run off on the last day with the two winners.
I have sent a email the the person from GM who is hte manager of the show events and I talked with him at the show, Contact me if you want his name. I think this would go over great and could be put on any where when it gets set up. Paul Nelson Instructor, High Performance Engine Machinist Program Northwest Technical College Bemidji, Minnesota
