DRAG RACING?

Does the CC Nat's normally include a drag racing venue?

If not, is there a nearby track that has racing on the same weekend?

From what I've read about law enforcement and the attitude of the business community concerning cruising and hanging out in general, it might not be a bad idea to research the possibilities of a track rental as part of the event.

Just a thought.

I've often wondered why they don't move this to BIR...  anyway the nearest drag strips are:

Grove Creek:   www.grovecreek.com
Rock Falls:  www.rockfallsraceway.com

Both are excellent facilities.

Enjoy!

Sorry if i interrupted; I like drag racing and cup racing,My favorite is Dirt track racing. My closet drag strip is Thunder valley in bristol tn. 16 miles drive.I was overwhelmed at how much faster they look on track than on tv my first time out. I do have a question,as i am new to this forum. I still don't know how to start my own post.                   I have 2001 Chevy Prizm that uses 1 quart oil every 1,500 miles.I have no oil leaks that should cause that much consumption.Motor has 130,000 miles. Does not smoke when starting or cruising on open road at 65 mph. I change oil every 3,000 miles using valvoline durablend 5/30. I use 10/40 durablend in 79 chevy monte-carlo and it only uses 1/2 qt. every 2,500 miles. Does any body understand this? Are these newer cars Designed to use oil to cut down on cylinder wear?
