I'm 14 years old and I'm looking at a 1970 AMC Rebel four-door for my first ride. I am unaware of the transmission and diff but i know it has a 232 inline 6 which would hit the bin for hopefully a Olds 350 and TH350 I have readily available from a '71 Cutlass. I'm hoping this combo will work well but I'm not sure if the engine will mount correctly to the Rebel. If you have an insite on how this would work or a better lowbudget idea I would greatly appreciate it. I just want something with over 300 horses that will put my friends' ricers to shame. Thanks.

It may be hard to find the parts to swap an Olds driveline into an AMC, since A. AMC isn't that poupular (not many left) and B. AMC engines mostly were Chrysler based.. You're probably better off getting a real AMC engine. If you decide to look for one, just keep in mind: Prior to the mid 80s, most Jeeps came with AMC 304 and 401 V8s
