Automotive News is reporting industry sources are saying a Dodge Mustang-fighter, probably to be named "Challenger" is a go.
Okay, so it's not as big as "Michael Jackson [moon]walks," [note to self: LOCK UP THE KIDS!] but it's real news for Car Crafters.

Inside DCX is reporting the Challenger will "appear in 2009" as a 2010.
Is this not a repeat of the '60s, or what? The original Challenger showed up late for the musclecar/pony car party in '69. Of course the enviro-nuts will probably have mostly shut down the game by then --just like they did with the 1970 Clean Air Act--only this time it will be CO2 as the bogeyman.
Time to save your pennies, kids . . . .

Too bad clueless GM won't sell Pontiac to the GERMANS! Then maybe we'd have a real GTO and a Pontiac-powered Firebird on the horizon.
