i just got a 68 ford f250 for $600 bucks. it runs great, starts every time, and is not burning any oil. since it is 2wd i want to lower it. how low can i get it low without to much effort. i was going to put the axle on top of the leaf springs and cut the fount coils but i dont think there will be any clearance for the rear axle to the frame. help

they make notch kits for the frame rails... and offset spindles for the front... so you can really get it down...

those came stock with 16.5 rims...  so new rims for the low profile wide tires ...

be sure to check the crossmember bolt under the steering box... they come loose after a  lot of miles...

and be sure to check the radius arm bushing and axle pivot bushings... they tend to wear and need replacing after 40 years...

offset spindles??? You can use shorter springs, or cut the coils you have, however, alignment becomes an issue at that point. Drop I beams are available.....but pricy.
